Hangzhou Thousand Islets Lake Visit

Thousand Islets Lake
The Thousand Islets Lake (Qiandao Lake) is located 129 kilometers (80 miles) east of Hangzhou City and 140 kilometers (87 miles) west of Mt. Huangshan. It well deserves its name as totally 1078 islets scatter among the lake. It is also renowned as the back garden of the Yangtze River Delta. Its admission fee is CNY120.

Transportation from Hangzhou to the Thousand Islets Lake is very convenient. The buses set off every half an hour from 06:00 in the early morning to 18:50 in the late afternoon and the driving usually spends you about 2 hours. The bus station is called Hangzhou western bus station (address: No. 357 TianMu Shan Road Hangzhou). The ticket charges about CNY58.00. For more details, please call 0571-85222271 or 0571-87161572. The buses are also available at the Qianjiang market, on the Shang Tang road, but buses are so limited that it is not very convenient for you. If you prefer to take a bus there, please confirm the availability and time in advance.
If you start the tour from Huangshan, you can take a bus from Huangshan bus station. The Buses are available every 10 minutes and it spends you about 40 minutes to She County. Then you need to change another bus at She County bus station. The buses depart every 20 minutes. After 1 hour's drive, you will arrive at the Shen Du dock to take a yacht or small cruise to your today's final destination.
Please pay attention that the cruises and yachts are only available at 07:40 and 11:15, so we suggest you start early in the morning from Hangzhou or Huangshan and leave enough time for this connection. For an economical expenditure, you can share one yacht with other travelers. You might also charter one solely by yourself to get more flexibility, but the price will be higher.
The Thousand Islets Lake is divided into six basic sections - Northeast Lake District, Northwest Lake District, Central Lake District, Southeast Lake District, Southwest Lake District and Fuxi Stone Forest. Each of these sections contains various tourist attractions, such as Xianshan Island, Mishan Island, Guihua Island, Qiandao Lake Fishing Village, Meifeng Island, Wulong Scenic Area, Tianchi and so on. Do not be confused by what to see here. Actually, the whole lake is a very large natural garden with fresh air and crystal clear water. And you can also choose some representative sites to visit.
