China’s 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit Policy will be Expanded to 27 Ports since Dec.1, 2019

From December 1, 2019 on, eligible foreign travelers from 53 countries/regions can transit in 27 Chinese ports through 144-hour visa-free transit policy, which means the eligible travelers can travel within these regions and cities at most 144 hours without a visa.
 

Newly Included Regions and Cities: Xi'an, Chongqing, Ningbo and Chengdu Neighboring Cities

72-hour visa-free transit policy has been implemented in Xi'an and Chongqing. However, after December 2019, it will be expanded to a 144-hour visa-free transit policy and implemented in Chongqing Airport and Xi’an Airport.

What’s more, Ningbo will be included in 144-hour visa-free transit zone of Shanghai-Jiangsu-Zhejiang and passengers can enter or leave China from Ningbo Airport and travel around Shanghai, Hangzhou area.

Besides that, passengers who use the 144-hour visa-free transit policy in Chengdu Airport could only stay in Chengdu City in the past time. But since December, the stay area will be expanded to Leshan, Deyang, Suining, Meishan, Ya'an, Ziyang, Neijiang, Zigong, Luzhou, and Yibin so that travelers can visit more Sichuan attraction like Mt. Emei and Leshan Giant Buddha.  
 

A Full List of 27 Ports to Adopt 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Since December 1, 2019, the 27 ports will implement the 144-hour visa-free transit policy and they are: Beijing: Capital International Airport, Beijing West Railway Station
Tianjin: Binhai International Airport, Tianjin International Cruise Home Port
Hebei Province: Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport, Qinhuangdao Beidaihe International Airport            
 

Region 2: Shanghai, Jiangsu Province, and Zhejiang Province

Shanghai: Pudong Airport, Hongqiao Airport, Shanghai Railway Station, Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal, Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal    
Jiangsu Province: Nanjing Lukou Airport       
Zhejiang Province: Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport, Ningbo Lishe Airport
 

Region 3: Guangdong Province

Guangzhou Baiyun AirportShenzhen Bao'an Airport, Jieyang Chaoshan Airport
 

Region 4: Liaoning Province

Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport, Shenyang Taoxian International Airport

Others: Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport and sea ports, Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, Kunming Changshui International Airport, Qingdao Liuting International Airport and sea ports, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, and Chongqing Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport.

 Other European Countries: UK, Ireland, Russia, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Belarus, Monaco

Asian Countries: South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, Qatar

    can we leave guangzhou by train

    In fact, there are only trains from Guangzhou South Railway Station to HK.

    Yes i know about that but can i leave to hk by train from this train station once i arrived from Vietnam by air then i remember custom will ask me to show the train ticket to HK

    we are planning to take cruise from Tokyo to Japan. We are Canadian Citizen. Our itinerary looks like this. If we take excursion through your company, do we need China visa?

    Hi, you do need to apply for a visa in advance, because you can only use 144-hour visa-free transit in one area for one time. As you need to transit in different areas including Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, you are not eligible for the 144-hour visa-free transit.
