Thank you for your inquiry.

The detailed date for operation is not officially confirmed by Railway Company yet. The ticket sale may only starts a few days before first day of operation. The previous news says the train service should be ready at the end of year 2019. You can wait some more days to the end of Dec. Hope this information can help you.

Is there early bus at 6am at Datong Railway Station to go to Yungang Grottoes?
I pan to take K888 from Tianjin and wondering what option do I have to go to Yungang Grottoes?

The direct bus, express tourist bus 306 should starts at 7am to the Grottoes. K888 is too early for the bus. You may need taxi or you may consider 2602 instead if there are ticket available.
