Urumqi South Railway Station

Urumqi South Railway Station mainly runs normal-speed trains within Xinjiang, to/from Karamay, Turpan, Kashgar, Aksu, and Hami. There are also some high-speed trains running. Built in 1962, the train station is the essential point of the second Eurasian Continental Bridge, and also one of the most important railway stations in Xinjiang. Rail lines going through there include Lanxin (Lanzhou - Alashankou) Line, Southern Xinjiang (Turpan - Kashgar) Line, and Northern Xinjiang (Urumqi - Alashankou) Line.

 Urumqi South Train Station mainly consists of a 3-storey terminal building and a front square:

 Square:
City bus stop is located at the northeast corner of the square; from the stop passengers can go to Red Hill Park and the International Grand Bazaar. Some restaurants, hotels, bars, shops are situated around the square, especially on the north and south side. For taxi service, one can find the taxi stand in front of the Eurasian Hotel (located near the self-service ticket office), or the area in front of the station exit.

  How to get to the Urumqi Railway Station:
 By bus:
Take bus no. K2, 8, 10, 16, 20, 21, 36, 44, 52, 58, 62, 157, 531, 902, 903, 905, 906, 909, 914, 915, 927, BRT-1, and get off at South Railway Station.
 By taxi:
It takes 30 minutes and costs CNY 60 from West Railway Station.
It takes 15 minutes and costs CNY 25 from Urumqi Railway Station.
It takes 30 minutes and costs CNY 50 from Urumqi Diwopu International Airport.

 How to get to famous tourism sites and other stations:
 1. Red Hill:
Take bus no. 927 and get off at Red Hill Park. After getting off, walk southward to get there.
 2. Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar:
Take bus no. 10 or 16 and get off at Erdaoqiao.
 3. Xinjiang Regional Museum:
Take bus No. 906 and get off at the museum.
 4. Diwopu International Airport:
Take the airport shuttle bus from the railway station. Ticket fare is CNY15.
 5. Urumqi Railway Station:
Take bus no. K2 to the get there at a cost of CNY5.
