Beijing West Railway Station is 5 miles away from the city center, can be easily accessed by subway line 7 and line 9. Shuttle bus line 7 runs between its South Square and the Capital Airport. Except the shuttle bus, other city buses are also available at both North and South squares. Urumqi Railway Station connects to the downtown area by bus line BRT5 and 527.

These rides run along different routes and merged with each other at Zhongwei city and then continued the trip to the northwest.

If possible, passengers are recommended to take the Z69/ Z70 since they take shorter time and cost less. The stopovers include: Baoding, Shijiazhuang North, Yangquan North, Taiyuan South, Lvliang, Suide, Dingbian, Zhongwei, Wuwei, Jinchang, Zhangye, Qingshui, Jiayuguan, Yumen, Liuyuan, Kumul, Shanshan, Turpan, Urumqi South

Alternative, there are also flights available between. Direct flight usually takes around 4 hours and if it has a stopover in Hohhot or Lanzhou, the trip may needs around 5.5 to 6 hours. The flight ticket price is usually much higher, but for travelers who are tight in schedule, flight would be a very good option.

I suppose you are looking for "Liuyuan"? By high speed, the price is from CNY247 to 395 per person. By normal train, it is from CNY112 to 320.

No, no direct one to Urumqi, the distance is too long for a direct high speed ride. If you want to experience the high speed ride, you can go from Beijing to Lanzhou first and then choose a hotel near Lanzhou West Station for one night. Then continue the trip next morning by high speed ride to Urumqi. The total duration would be around 22 hours. The costs could be around CNY1,250 per person exclude hostel costs.

There is no direct high speed rail. If you want high speed rides, you may make a transfer in Lanzhou. However, the time of two sections cannot match each other. Therefore, you would need to stay in Lanzhou for one night and then head to Urumqi by high speed ride the second day.
