Xian - Baotou Train

Around 4 pairs of normal speed trains are operated between Xian Railway Station and Baotou Railway Station.

They finish different running distances of 899/ 915/ 942/ 964 kilometers (559/ 569/ 585/ 599 miles) in 9.5 - 12 hours. The ticket fare for a soft sleeper is CNY 325 - 337 and a hard sleeper costs CNY 214 - 221.

In addition, high speed trains between the two cities with around 5 hours’ duration will be put into use by the end of 2026.

 The high speed railway between Xian and Baotou, a section of the Baotou - Haikou high speed railway, is under construction and expected to open in 2026. With a total length of about 800 kilometers (497 miles) and a planned top speed of 350 km/h (218 mph), it will greatly shorten the rail travel time between the two cities to around 5 hours.
  Tickets for the overnight sleeper trains, including K1686/K1685, K692/K691 and K771 are in great demand most of the time. Please reserve tickets in advance to make sure your travel is more comfortable and as smooth as planned.

 Xian Railway Station, which has convenient transportation, lies in the downtown area. Over 70 pairs of city buses, and metro Line 4 are running to connect the whole city. There are also airport shuttle buses serving passengers from the railway station to the airport. So use of this station is recommended.
