Indeed there are a few slow K rides from the main station near city wall to South Station. They would take around 44min on the way. The problem is that if they can fit your trip from South Station? You can find them online here if input the stations directly.

Yonging Gate, the South Gate, it is about 30km to the South Station. Even taxi would take around 1 hour. If you plan to go by public bus, you may need to prepare around 2 hours on the way.

You may take a bus No. 910 or 800 from Yongning Gate to Hepingmen Gate and then walk about 150m to find metro station for line 4. Then you can take line 4 to Hangtiandadao, exit A and then walk about 300m to find bus station for 920 and take this bus to reach South Rrailway Station.

Or maybe you can consider taking a taxi to Xi'an Railway Station and take a slow train at 6:30pm to the South Station at 7:14pm.
