Tops: A long-sleeved shirt or a T-shirt plus a knitwear or a light jacket is generally enough in early October. However, by the end of the month, you are recommended to wear layers that are convenient to put on or take off to cope with the relatively large temperature difference between day and night. For example, you can wear a T-shirt as the base layer, a shirt as the middle layer, and then a trench coat as the outer layer.

Bottoms: In the first half month, sweatpants or jeans are enough, while in the second half month, you may need to add long johns if you plan to have a night tour.

Shoes: Comfortable sneakers or hiking shoes are always the most recommended for Beijing, where you may walk a lot during the visit. Considering the temperature, short boots are also suitable.

Other Items: Beijing climate in October is very dry, so bring moisturizing lotion or spray, and a lip balm as well. In addition, sunscreen and sunglasses are still necessary to protect yourself from the sun’s rays.
