Shanghai - Huangshan Train

Currently, over 10 pairs of high speed trains are running between Shanghai and Huangshan with travel time of about 2.5 - 3.5 hours. The  distance is 447 km (278 mi) and a second class seat costs CNY 166.5 - 206.

Besides, coaches are available between the two cities, and it takes about 5.5 - 8 hours for the whole journey. The ticket fare for a seat is CNY 138 - 151, cheaper than the bullet ones, but traveling by coaches may not be that comfortable and coaches are not as punctual as high speed rail.

Travel Tips about Huangshan North Railway Station

Huangshan North Railway Station  is a little bit far from the Yellow Mountain and other scenic areas. But upon arrival, you can find special sightseeing buses to get to the South Gate of Yellow Mountain Scenic Area, Hongcun Ancient Village, Shexian County (Yuliangba) and Chengkan Village, etc. It's very convenient.

I know flights are easier but I am on a budget and thus considering the train.

Different from other trains from "Shanghai Hongqiao", this G7319 only shows "Shanghai" on website. So it means a different station? Please confirm, thank you!

Yes, indeed! This G7319 departs from Shanghai Railway Station instead of Hongqiao Station. This station is named by city name and closer to city center area. The address is No. 303 Moling Road, Jing'an District. Hope this information can help you.

I heard a new high speed rail line served this trip and is much faster
May I know which train runs on the new line? The 2.5 hours one?

Hello, Ingrid! All of these G and D rides are running on the new line already since it is better and more reasonable route. The time difference is due to the speed and stopovers.
