Xiamen North Railway Station

Being operating from April 2010, Xiamen North Railway Station is 8 miles (13 kilometers) from Gaoqi International Airport, 14 miles (23 km) from Xiamen Railway Station, and 7.4 miles (12 kilometers) from Gaoqi Railway Station. It is an important transportation hub which Connects Fuxia (Fuzhou - Xiamen) Line, Xiashen (Xiamen - Shenzhen) Line, and Xialong (Longyan - Xiamen). The station operates bullet trains only. At present, trains from there run to Beijing, Shanghai, Fuzhou, Wuhan, Chongqing, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and other cities.

To the south of the railway station, there is a square, where a bus stop is located at the southwest corner of the square. Xiamen BRT no. 1 goes passed the station, with an interval of two to three minutes. Airport shuttle bus is available in the north railway station; one can easily reach Gaoqi airport when they arrive at the station by train. To the west direction of the station, Houxi Long-distance Bus Station is under construction now. Once this is completed, it will be easier for passengers to go to nearby cities. Passengers need to pay attention when getting off from the underground exit, to the west one can reach BRT no. 1 and the bus stop; while to the east they can reach the taxi stand and tourist bus.

There are more than ten ticket windows in the ticket office. Besides, twenty self service ticket machines and ten ticket collecting machines are available for passengers. For waiting rooms, there is a main waiting room about 12,000 square yards (10,000 square meters), a 1,800 square yards (1,500 square meters) waiting room for teams, and a 1,800 square yards (1,500 square meters) one for mother – and – baby as well as the disabled.

Left luggage service is available in the station square. The price depends on the size of the luggage, but it wouldn’t exceed CNY 10 for each piece per day. Besides, the Wal-Mart in the station has free lockers.

How to get to the railway station:
By subway: Take line 1 to the North Railway Station directly.
By bus: Take bus No. 690, 691, 692, 790, 792, 890, 898 Express, 901, 905, 907, 936, 943 Express, 949, 950, 953, 957, 980, BRT 1, and Airport Shuttle Bus North Station Line and get off at North Railway Station.
By taxi:
1. It takes 25 minutes and costs CNY 45 from Gaoqi International Airport.
2. It takes 20 minutes and costs CNY 35 from Gaoqi Railway Station.

How to get to famous sites:
1. Jimei School Village:
Take bus No. 901 and get off at Longzhouchi.
2. South Putuo Temple:
Take bus No. 943 Express and get off at the West Village of Xiamen University, and then walk along Yanwu Road to West Yanwu Road to the crossroad, and you’ll see it.
3. Gaoqi Railway Station:
Take bus no. 953 and get off at Gaoqi Railway Station.
4. Gaoqi International Airport:
a. Take Airport Shuttle Bus North Station Line at North Railway Station.
b. Take metro line 1 to Dianqian Station, Exit 4B. Then transfer to bus no.755 to Taigusushe. Walk north around 950 meters to arrive at the airport.

Xiamen to jinjiang

Hi, we are staying at swiss grand xiamen in Siming district and planning to go to jinjiang by bullet train on march 31, on what train station is the most convenient for us since we have luggages. Thank you

Xiamen Railway Station is the closest one and it can be easily reached by metro line 1 and 3 with a transfer at Hubin East Road, 5 stops in total.

Will Gaoqi be available again in the future?

Earlier there were some trains from Xiamen Gaoqi station, but not all trains to Beijing depart from Xiamen North.

I’m afraid no. Xiamen Gaoqi was used to be a freight station. In order to relieve the passenger flow pressure of Xiamen railway hub, Gaoqi station began to be transformed into a passenger station in January 2011. Later, the new Xiamen North station was completed, and then Gaoqi stopped to handle the passenger transportation business from Mar 14, 2015. Now only two stations can be used in Xiamen, they are Xiamen station and Xiamen North station.

Transport from Jinjiang Airport by train to Xiamen North Railway Station.

I'm flying in to Jinjiang Airport. From there I intend to take a bus to Quanzhou Railway Station to take a train to Xiamen North Railway Station. Can I buy a ticket on arrival, or should I purchase in advance online. How long is the bus journey from Jinjiang Airport to Quanzhou Railway Station. And how much is the bus fare. Is there any Railway Station from Jinjiang Airport to Xiamen?

You can use bus K901 or K602 to reach Quanzhou Station, it should take around 1.5 to 2 hours on the way. Ticket is CNY4 or 7. Or you can use Jinjiang Station which should be closer to the airport. You can use bus No. 21, but may still around 1.5 hours on the way, CNY2 per person.

I bought a bullet train ticket online from xiamen north station to quanzhou.

1)Can i collect my ticket at Xiamen station instead?
2)Can I collect my ticket 1day advance?
3)How early do I have to reach the station before the boarding time?

Yes, you can collect the ticket from another railway station in advance, for example, a few days in advance. If you collected ticket before travel date, with paper ticket in hand, 30 to 40min at station should be OK unless you are traveling during holiday time. If you decide to collect ticket on the day of travel, maybe 1.5 hours at station is needed.

How much it approximately costs by taxi?

I suppose it may around CNY80 if count by the distance. Or you may consider to use the metro service to Zhenhai Road and then walk to the ferry terminal or your hotel nearby.
