Beijing-Xiamen Train

Altogether five or so pairs of trains are shuttling between Beijing and Xiamen, including a few pairs of bullet trains and about 2 pairs of normal types. The duration of bullet types is 10.5-11.5 hours and of normal types is 18.5-29 hours.

Except the rail travel, you can also choose the flight which just takes 3 – 4 hours. But even in low season, the flight ticket will cost more than rail ticket.
 

High Speed Trains

Currently, about 3 pairs of high speed G trains are in service between the two cities daily. They run between Beijing South Railway Station and Xiamen North Railway Station for a distance of 1,276 miles (2,053 km). Transportation of these two stations is convenient. In Beijing, you can take subway line 4 and line 14, as well as city buses and taxis to South Railway Station; and you can also go to the nearby attraction sites from this station easily. In Xiamen, city buses and BRT line 1 and line 6 will take you to other stations, airport and the famous scenic spots.

Compared with normal types, the bullet ones will cost more, but their facilities and environment are better than that of normal types and they take less time. In this case, if possible, bullet types should be your first choice.

Obviously, Z307/Z308 takes less time and costs less. So if possible, it should be a preferable choice. Besides, a sleeper is advised when you travel by normal types because the journey is long and a sleeper will guarantee you a place to have a rest.

Major cities along the way:

 Huangshan
Being famous for Yellow Mountain, Huangshan city is a hot tourist destination at the southernmost tip of Anhui Province. Except the beautiful natural sceneries, the city also has many ancient streets and towns such as Shexian County, Chengkan Villages, Tunxi Ancient Street, Hongcun and Xidi Villages and Huizhou Ancient City. Currently, you can go to Huangshan easily either by railroad or by air. The bullet trains from Beijing, Shanghai and other major cities are preferable among the travelers.

 Quanzhou
As an important seaport and one of the three central cities in Fujian Province, Quanzhou is a famous cultural and historical city with mild climate. You can find many historical sites there, including Kaiyuan Temple, Heavenly Empress (Tianhou) Palace, Qingjing Mosque and other natural beauties such as Mt. Qingyuan and Mt Zimao. Transportation from this city is pretty convenient. Flights, trains, ships and city buses are all available for your convenience.

How can I reach Seashine Hotel Palace Xiamen? Any public transportation?
Is there still public transportation around 10pm? I will land at North Station by G323 at 9:46pm.

You can still use metro line 1 directly. The last train of line 1 is at 10:30pm. You can take line 1 from the North Station to Jiangjunci directly. The hotel is about 900m away from metro station exit No. 1. You can walk to reach the hotel.
