Beijing Workers' Stadium

Located in eastern Beijing, Workers' Stadium is not far from the Sanlitun Embassy Zone. Covering an area of 86 acres, it consists of a stadium, a gymnasium and a swimming pool with 27 acres of green space and 7 acres of artificial lake. It is one of the largest comprehensive stadiums in Beijing. Tourists can visit the central stadium, watch football games and different shows in Workers’ Stadium, go for a drink in assorted bars around it, and taste different kinds of food in the surrounding restaurants.
 

Central Stadium - A Milky White Oval Building

The central stadium is the main building of the Workers’ Stadium complex. The entire building is oval, measuring 282 meters (300 yards) long from north to south, 208 meters (230 yards) wide from east to west, with 24 stands and more than 60,000 seats. On the southern stands is the largest electronic display screen in Asia, which is 44 meters (50 yards) long and 11 meters (12 yards) high. This large screen can display scenes from different angles. The main entrance to the stadium is the north gate, with sculptures of athletes standing in front. There are flag areas on both sides of the gate square, with 40 flagpoles forming a circle.
 

Workers’ Stadium Events and Shows

Beijing Workers’ Stadium is the main venue for the Super League, so football matches are held regularly here. It was once the football stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. What’s more, many super stars choose it to hold concerts and tourists can enjoy a variety of performances here.

Beijing Workers’ Stadium is located in a bustling area, surrounded by restaurants and clubs, so it is not only a stadium, but also a great place for Beijing nightlife. Many kinds of clubs scattered around can meet tourists’ different needs. Most of them are located near the north west gates of the stadium.

MIX CLUB is recognized as the best bar near the Workers’ Stadium, and is located near its north gate. The bar has a post-modern decor. Live music bands perform classic English songs every night and many top Hip-Hop DJs perform here. In MIX you can dance on the dance floor to popular Hip-Hop music or sit in the corner to have a drink.

VICE CLUB is one of the most famous clubs in Bejing, also located at the north gate, where tourists can relax after watching a show or game. Gorgeous lighting and a sexy atmosphere attract people here. Every Wednesday is Ladies Night and you need to reserve seats in advance.

LANTERN CLUB is located at the west gate. Every night, top local or foreign DJs play different types of high quality music. A rave party based on techno and house music is held every Friday and Saturday.
 

How to Get to Workers' Stadium

1. Take subway line 6 and get off at the Dongdaqiao Station, then go north about 1,100 meters (1,200 yards) to get to the East Gate of Workers' Stadium.
2. Take subway line 2 and get off at the Dongsishitiao Station, then go east for about 1, 200 meters (1,300 yards) to get to the North Gate.
3. Take bus line 43, 110, 120 or 403 and get off at Workers' Stadium,  then walk southward for 200 meters (219 yards) to the east gate.
4. Take bus line 4, 113, 115, 118 or 406 to Worker's Stadium, then the north gate is on the west.
