Changsha Railway Station

Changsha Railway Station is a transportation hub on Beijing-Guangzhou, Shimen-Changsha, Zhejiang-Jiangxi and Hunan-Guizhou railways. It is 15.5 miles (25 km) from Huanghua International Airport and 6.2 miles (10 km) from the South Railway Station.

The station mainly operates ordinary trains to major cities in China such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and some high speed trains to domestic cities including Guangzhou, Xi'an, Chongqing, Chengdu, as well as intercity bullet trains to Zhangjiajie, Zhuzhou, Xiangtan, Changde, and Lugu.

Changsha Railway Station

Waiting Room

Facing west with an area of 10 acres, the station consists of a 2-storey station building and two front squares. West square open for 24 hours is set for passengers who take long-distance trains, while the east square, also called Jintai Square, is in service at 5:50 - 22:10 for those taking intercity high speed trains. Two squares are connected with a transfer passage, taking people about 10 minutes to shuttle between.

There is a clock tower with a height of 207 feet on the top of the station building. It is a landmark of the station, and reminds passengers of the time. To the south of the west square is the ticket office. Bus stops, taxi stands and parking lots for private cars are in the front square, too.

  Arrival by metro line 2 or line 3:
Passengers taking long-distance train are advised to get off at Changsha Railway Station, while those taking intercity bullet trains should get off at Jintai Square metro station, which is closer to the correct waiting hall.

Before checking in, passengers should know where to have their tickets checked by reading the ticket booking page carefully. After that, go to the platforms to get onboard. Please note that place the luggage in the right place when aboard in case that it falls and hurts others.

Arrive at Changsha Railway Station by Bullet Train

 Upon arriving, all passengers will get out from the exit to the front square where passengers can find bus, metro or taxi to leave the station according to their routes.

 Leave by metro:
Metro entrance for line 2 or line 3 is close to the ticket office at the south side of the west or east square.

 Leave by bus:
Bus stops are located in the northwest of the west square. Passengers can go there to take bus to their destinations.

 Leave by taxi:
Taxi stands can also be found on the front square.

 Leave by long-distance bus:
Changzhutan Coach Station is situated 600 yards to the northwest side of the station. Passengers can take long-distance bus to get to Zhuzhou, Zhangjiajie, and more.
   South Train Station:
Take metro line 2 to get there directly. One should get out through exit 5. 

 Huanghua International Airport:
Take Airport Shuttle Bus Line at Shanshui Hotel (400 yards to the west side of the station) and get off at the airport. The bus is available from 05:00 to 18:00 with an interval of 20 - 30 minutes. The travel time is usually 40 minutes and the ticket fare is CNY 28.

 Mawangdui Han Tombs:
Take bus line 126 to Intersection of Mawangdui Road and Lingxiao Road. After, walk 831 yards (760 meters) to the destination.

 Hunan Provincial Museum:
Take bus line 136 or 113 at the station and get off at Provincial Museum stop. And then walk 340 yards (310 meters) eastward to the destination.
 
 Fenghuang Ancient Town:
Take high speed train to Fenghuanggucheng Railway Station. It costs CNY 259 for a second class seat and CNY 417 for a first class seat. Then, take the special tourist bus to get to the ancient town in about 20 minutes.
 1. Take a train to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. From West Station, passengers can take a coach to the scenic area. It takes 45 minutes and costs CNY 13. 
2. Or passengers can take coaches at Changzhutan Coach Station to Zhangjiajie Bus Terminal. The coach is available at 10:00. It takes about 4 hours and the ticket fare is CNY 125. Upon arrival, change to local bus to the scenic spot.
  Ticket Office:
The ticket office is located to the south side of the west square. There are 28 ticket windows in service. 

 Waiting Rooms:
There are six waiting rooms available in the station for passengers’ convenience. Waiting Room 1 - 5 are at the west side for passengers taking long-distance trains, while Room 6 at the east for those taking high speed intercity trains. Hot drinking water and toilets are provided in each waiting room.

 Luggage Service:
Passengers can find several left luggage spots near the exit of the station.

 China Railway Express:
The service is provided at the south side of the station building where passengers can consign luggage.

 Inquiry:
Information desk can be found at the east side of the entrance on 1F. Passengers can go there to search information of the schedule, departure time, arrival time etc. or seek advice or help.
