High speed trains have been in service for passengers travelling between Hong Kong and Huangshan. However, a transfer in Shenzhen North is needed as the bullet train between the cities do not run directly. The overall travel time is around  8.5 - 9.5 hours and the one-way ticket costs on the second class seat is CNY 533.5 - 672.5

Bullet Train Running Route Between Hong Kong and Huangshan

The running route can be divided into three parts, namely, Hong Kong – Shenzhen, Shenzhen – Fuzhou and Fuzhou – Huangshan.

 Hong Kong – Shenzhen
As one component of Guangzhou - Shenzhen - Hong Kong High Speed Railway, it is as long as about 40 km (25 mi). Bullet trains start from West Kowloon and stop at Shenzhen North, with Futian Station along the line.

It is one important part of Hangzhou - Fuzhou - Shenzhen High Speed Railway and has a distance of 759 km (471 mi). Major stations on the way contain Huizhou South, Shanwei, Kuitan, Chaoshan, Yunxiao, Zhangzhou, Xiamen North, Quanzhou, Xianyou, Putian and Fuqing.

 Fuzhou – Huangshan
The rail line between these two cities is one section of Hefei – Fuzhou High Speed Railway. The distance of it is about 502 km (312 mi). There are several major stations along the way, including Gutian North, Nanping North, Wuyishan East, Shangrao, Dexing and Wuyuan.
 

Other Transportation Mean between Hong Kong and Huangshan

MTR East Rail Line + Shenzhen - Huangshan Direct Flight

MTR East Rail Line is in service for passengers travelling from Hong Kong Hung Kom and Shenzhen Lok Ma Chau with the  duration of around an hour or so. The ticket fare varies between HKD40 and HKD80 based on the different seats. There are two pairs of direct flights between Shenzhen and Huangshan. The duration on the flight is around 2 hours and the ticket fare for an economy class seat is around CNY 800 - 1,200.  Metro line 10 and 11 are available for passengers travelling between Lok Ma Chau and Shenzhen Bao'an International Aiport.

Can I collect Shenzhen North to Huangshan North ticket in HK too?

Thank you for your inquiry.

You can collect the ticket at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station for this Shenzhen to Huangshan trip too. The ticket can be collected from counter No. 1 to 10, however, there would be some service fee charged by station for this ticket collection service.

Is there any other option to Huangshan which allows me to departure later from HK?
If there is an afternoon train it would be prefect!

Did not find any afternoon option but you can try with Shangrao. G100 departs at 11:10am from West Kowloom to Shangrao and then you can change to other ride from Shangrao to Huangshan.

If I will reach Shenzhen by MTR, how can I reach Shenzhen North for G1602 to Huangshan?

The cloest MTR port should be Lok Ma Chau which is also called Futian Port. You can take metro line 4 directly to this Shenzhen North Station from Futian Port. It would take around 30min by line 4.
