Nanning – Guangzhou Train vs. Flight

1. Currently, there are only three pairs of flights between Nanning and Guangzhou, making the travel time not as flexible as rail rides.
2. The time spending in the air is about 100 minutes. However, counting in the time to/from the airports, which are far from downtown, as well as time consumed for boarding procedures, the total travel time is about 4 hours. This has no big difference with a high speed rail ride.
3. The train ticket is usually cheaper than a flight ticket.

Is Nanning East Station far from our hostel at ASEAN Central City, No. 10 Guiya Rd?
Is there a convenient and economic way to travel between? Thank you.

Compared with main station, East Station is a little bit closer to your address. The most convenient way is surely taxi which would cost around 30 Chinese Yuan. If you want a economic way, you can use the subway line 1 to ASEAN Trade Zone. Your address is around 1.5km in South direction.

I think you should refer to the Nanning station, the main station or East station? There is no south station for passenger service. From the airport, you can take shuttle bus to main station directly. The duration may around 1 or 1.5 hours. To the east station, you may take the bus to Wharton International Hotel first and then take metro line 1 from Nanhu to the East Station. The duration may aroud 1.5 or 2 hours based on the traffic

Thank you and appreciate for your reply, Fallon. Very sorry, the station is East Station and not South Station.

You could consider transfering from Hong Kong to Guangzhou, then Guangzhou to Nanning. This should be the best way.
