Shanghai - Zhangjiajie Train

Currently, there are three pairs of normal trains running between Shanghai South Railway Station and Zhangjiajie Railway Station/Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. It takes 19 – 21 hours for this popular tourist route. Shanghai to Zhangjiajie distance by train is 1,526 kilometers (948 miles). A hard sleeper costs CNY 310 - 322.5 per person.

No direct high speed trains are available between the two cities at present, but passengers can make a transfer in Changsha. In this case, duration will be 7 – 10.5 hours, saving a lot of time.

Traveling in this way, passengers need to transfer between Changsha South Railway Station and Changsha Railway Station by taking bus no. 135, 148, or by subway line 2. A taxi ride takes about 25 minutes and costs CNY 30.

Shanghai - Zhangjiajie Trains vs. Flight

Aside from a rail ride, passengers can also travel by flights. A flight trip between the two cities takes 3 hours or so. Full price for an economy class seat is about CNY 1,400, but discounts may be offered in low seasons when an economy class seat may just cost about CNY 400. However, weather change may easily lead to flight delays or cancellation. Passengers had better check the weather forecast before making a flight trip.

Traveling by normal speed trains will be a preferable choice for budget travelers because it costs less, but the long-distance journey may make tourists feel bored and dog-tired. If they have to travel in this way, a soft or hard sleeper is highly recommended.

Although passengers need to make a transfer in Changsha if traveling by bullet trains, it will save a lot of time compared with normal train trip. Besides, high speed trains are more punctual compared with flights.

From Disneyland to Shanghai South Train Station

How to transfer by metro lines please?

I think you can walk to Disney metro station to board Line 11 to Xujiahui and then change to line 1 within the metro station. By Line 1, you can reach South Railway Station. It is necessary to prepare 1 hour on the way.

Not yet, I think I used to read that it would only open in year 2020 or even later.

From Mercure Shanghai Hongqiao Soho to Shanghai South

You can walk to Songhonglu station to take metro line 2 to Zhongshan Park and then from there to South Station by line 3. It should take around 30 to 40min.

We are a family traveling with kids. How can I make sure we will stay together?

I see that there are 7 soft sleeper beds left and we need 4 beds. We cannot leave the kids along in other room. How do I know if these beds are together or not? Thank you for your answer?

The bed location can be known at the time of ticket issuing. If there are only 7 beds left, we cannot guarantee that the beds are all together, but we can have a try for you. You can submit your booking online firstly and leave us a remark that you need the beds together. We will notice your request and try for the beds for you.
