Xi'an – Dalian Train vs. Flight

Over 5 direct flights are operated between the two cities. A single trip takes 2.5 hours. Full price for an economy class seat is over CNY 1,400. However, the airlines will offer 20% - 60% discounts in most cases and then the ticket fare for an economy class seat may be low to CNY 300 or so. In this case, flight trip will be a quite good choice, especially for those who are tight in time. Mobile devices are not allowed to use on flights and flight delays may occur frequently because of the weather change or air traffic control.

In contrast, high speed trains take a long time, but they are punctual in most cases. Passengers can use mobile devices freely and see the beautiful land scenery along the way. However, only one pair of bullet trains serves between the two cities daily. Passengers can make a high speed rail transfer in Beijing or Tianjin.

According to the map, it is over 18km. It should be around 40min by car. In this case, the taxi fee should be around CNY50. By the way, the hotel local is very good with convenient metro service also. You can walk to Yongningmen metro station outside the hotel and take line 2 to the North Station too.
