Zhangjiajie Railway Station

Zhangjiajie Railway Station is about 35 km (22 mi) from Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, 4 km (2.5 mi) from city center, and 4.5 km (2.8 mi) from Hehua International Airport. The station now operates only normal-speed trains, which connecting Zhangjiajie and other cities like Jishou, Huaihua and Mayang. High speed trains are operated at Zhangjiajie West Railway Station. Zhangjiajie Train Station is surrounded by dense city bus lines and a long-distance bus station, enabling visitors to reach Zhangjiajie National Forest Park within 1 hour.

Station Guide

The station consists of a two-storey terminal building and a front square for bus stops and taxi stands. Looking from a far distance, the station terminal looks like a white eagle standing among the mountains, grand and beautiful.

1. Ticket Office: 1F

Zhangjiajie Railway Station Entrance

It is to the west side of the terminal entrance, providing services including ticket purchase, ticket change and ticket refund. Passengers can also consult about the ticket availability or other problems. It is highly suggested to buying tickets in advance, especially if you are going to travel in the peak season or during holidays, when tickets are often sold out quickly.

2. Waiting Hall: 1F and 2F

Hot drinking water, toilets and LED screens are provided in waiting areas of the both floors. Apart from regular waiting areas, there are also rooms for tourist groups, mothers and babies, and soft seat/sleeper ticket holders.

3. Service desk: 1F

Passengers can search information about the train schedule, boarding gate, or ask for direction etc.

4. Ticket Check and Boarding: 1F and 2F

Passengers should read their ticket information carefully to know which check point to go. After, follow the direction boards to the platform to get onboard. Please note that after boarding, put your luggage in a right place in case that it falls and hurts others.

5. Exit Passage:

After getting off the trains, all passengers will be led to the exit passage to get out. Upon exiting, passengers can go to the front square to take buses or taxis to leave the station. If passengers want to leave by coach, Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station is located to the northwest of the train station.

After exit the Railway Station, it’s easy to find hotels and restaurants for rest and dining and the prices are not high.

6. Left Luggage Office:

It is to the east side of the station entrance.

7. Luggage Consignment:

The service is provided in Tourist Center near the exit on 1F.

How to Go to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park from Zhangjiajie Railway Station

Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station, 150 meters (164 yards) away from the Railway Station operates direct tourist buses running to the Forest Park. It takes approximately 1 hour and charges CNY13 per person.

Tips

1. Note that different buses would stop at the different gates of the Forest Park including South Gate, East Gate, and North Gate. Most passengers would get off at East Gate or South Gate, so confirm it with drivers in advance.
2. To go to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, Seven Star Mountain or other attractions in the suburban area, there are also direct buses departing from the Central Bus Station.

How to Get to Tianmen Mountain (Heaven's Gate) from Zhangjiajie Train Station

Take city bus No.13, 17, or 102 at Railway Station Bus Stop, get off at Wuling Shanzhenguan Bus Stop, and then walk for 4 minutes to reach the lower station of Tianmen Mountain Cable Car. It takes about 23 minutes and costs CNY2. After, you can take the cable car to reach the scenic area.

How to Get to the Train Station after Visiting Zhangjiajie

City Bus: Buses No. 1A, 102, 101, 13, 17, 6, 8, and 9A all run to the Railway Station bus stop, and buses No.5 and 8 to Railway Station Front Square bus stop.

Taxi: If arriving by taxi, passengers will be dropped off at the front square. The below prices and time needed are for reference:

Long-distance bus: For those arriving by long-distance bus, they will get off at the Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station to the northwest of the train station. From the exit of the Bus Station to the entrance of the Railway Station, you only need to walk for 3 minutes.
