Shanghai Disneyland Park

Shanghai Disneyland Park is the core wonderland inside the Disney Resort in Chuansha New Town of Pudong New Area. It is the first in Chinese mainland and the sixth over the globe, featuring the tallest castle (69 meters/75 yards)—Enchanted Storybook Castle—in the world. As the newest and most modern Disneyland park worldwide, it not only inherits the essence of Disney by creating a dreamy fairy tale kingdom for visitors through classic amusement facilities such as “Peter Pan’s Flight” in Fantasyland, “Pirates of the Caribbean” in Treasure Cove, as well as the parade of floats, but also boasts the world’s first Zootopia theme land and incorporates distinctive Chinese cultural elements, including Disney characters corresponding to the Chinese zodiac, Disney characters in traditional Chinese costume, classic Disney musicals with elements of Chinese Peking Opera, etc. All of these makes Shanghai Disneyland Park unique among all Disney parks across the world.

4. Some rides, such as Zootopia: Hot Pursuit and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, offer a free single-rider line based on crowd levels. This line usually moves faster, but you cannot choose your seat — staff will assign you to any available spot. It is ideal for solo visitors or groups prioritizing ride efficiency over sitting together.

5. Wheelchair and pram rental services (each costing CNY 90 / USD 13 per day) are available both inside and outside the park. These services are particularly suitable for tourists with mobility issues or those with little kids. By the way, they can also store some items that need to be carried with you, thus reducing your burden.

6. It's suggested that you avoid periods like May Day Holiday from May 1st to 5th, National Day holiday from October 1st to 7th and summer holiday from mid-July to late August when the park tends to be very crowded. If you are coming to visit the park during summer season (June-August), be sure to bring along sun protection and heatstroke prevention gear, such as sun hats, parasols, portable fans, cooling patches, etc. in case you get sunburned due to long queues outdoors.

7. If you plan to go on water rides, better bring your own raincoat—it’s much cheaper and will keep you from feeling uncomfortable in wet clothes.

8. Considering that you need to walk a lot around the park, remember to wear comfortable shoes.

9. The amusement facilities and outdoor performances may be postponed or closed due to weather conditions and other unforeseen factors. It is recommended to check the official website of Shanghai Disneyland Park for real-time information.
