What would happen if I did not manage to catch the train from Guangzhou to Yangshuo?
It will be our first time to China and we do not know the language at all. If we did not found the correct train to change to at Guangzhou South Station, we will lose our tickets?

Thank you for your inquiry.

If you failed to catch the booked ride from Guangzhou to Yangshuo, you can try to change the tickets to other later rides on the same day. However, the tickets can only be changed one time and if there is no ticket available on later rides, you cannot make the change. You will loss the booked tickets and buy new tickets instead. If you are very worried about transferring, it is recommendation to choose a later train for better preparation. Hope this information can help you.

Time to change trains in Guangzhuo
since you can't buy one ticket from Hong kong Kowloon to Yangshuo, you should buy two tickets. One from Hong Kong Kowloon to Guangzhou and one form Guangzhou to Yangshuo. I was wondering how much time between the trains i need to take into account when buying two separate tickets.

If you will collect the paper ticket for second trip to Yangshuo in advance in HK, around 30min or a little more than that would be OK for the transit. If you will collect paper ticket at Guangzhou South Statin, then 1.5 hours would be needed.

There is no bus service direct from the railway station. Now most buses go from South Long Distance Bus Station in Guilin. It is a little far from the railway station. I think by rail maybe more convenient.

Taking the Yangshuo to Guangzhou to Hong Kong Bullet Train.
Starting in Yangshuo downtown. Is there an early enough bus to reach the station in time for the 08:28-10:54 and 11:23-12:26 combination. Is 29 minutes sufficient to change trains in Guangzhou?

The bus time seems changes often, some says based on the railway timeable. But I also find some information says 7:30am. Maybe it is better to confirm it with the local hotels. By the way, most hotels offer this service or can introduce a local agent for this service. If you have a hotel booked, you may contact them for a try.

I prefer the transfer in Guangzhou, it is cheaper and you have more options. Via Guilin, you can only depart in the noon time and would reach Yangshuo at late afternoon only. Via Guangzhou, you can choose other departure time and the tickets are easier to get.
