In the first half month, the temperature is completely comfortable with the daily high of around 20-25°C (68-77°F) and daily low of about 15°C (59°F). In the second half month, the daily high drops to below 20°C (68°F) and sometimes may even below 15°C (59°F), while the daily low hovers around 10°C (50°F); in conclusion, the weather of Xi’an at this time of October features cool and cozy daytime and a bit cold nighttime.

Clothes: Since the temperature is unstable this month, you are advised to pack clothes of different thicknesses. Specifically, short-sleeve and long-sleeve shirts, knitwear, thin hoodies, and thin jackets like trench coats are all recommended to prepare as the top. According to the daily weather forecast, you need to match different outfits. In late October, you may also need to prepare thick jackets like 3-in-1 jackets. As a reminder, if you have a plan to have night tours, an extra coat may be needed on the daytime pieces. As for the bottoms, relatively thick sweatpants and jeans are suitable. Shoes: Something comfy for walking, like sneakers and walking shoes, is always the first choice during your trip to Xi’an.
