Xian - Shenyang Train

Currently, only one pair of high speed trains runs between Xian and Shenyang, taking around 11 hours for a distance of around 1,900 kilometers (1,181 miles). It costs CNY 856.5 per person for a second class seat. There are also normal speed trains shuttling between the two cities with duration of 26.5 – 31 hours, and a hard sleeper costs CNY 407 - 436 per person. Bullet trains taking less time are first choices of many passengers while normal speed trains costing less are good options for budget travelers.

In addition, direct flights are operated between the two cities. Usually, it takes about 2.5 hours for a single trip. In low seasons, the airlines may offer great discounts and the ticket fare for an economy class may be low to around CNY 400. In this way, many people would travel by flight.

They are operated between Xian Railway Station/Yinzhen Railway Station and Shenyang North Railway Station. However, Xian Yinzhen Railway Station is a little far from the city center and less trains are operated there. Passengers are usually advised to use Xian Railway Station. In Shenyang, both train stations are fine. Traveling by normal speed trains take a long time and passengers may feel bored onboard, so they are advised to download some videos or bring books to kill time. A hard sleeper or soft sleeper is necessary if they want to have a comfortable trip.
