Jinan Railway Station is only about 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) in distance to the city center, 4.5 kilometers (2.8 miles) from East Railway Station, 7 miles (11 kilometers) from West Railway Station, and 22 miles (36 kilometers) to Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport.

The Jinan Train Station building totally has 3 storeys, including one underground:
2F: waiting room for non-bullet trains (A1-7 and B1-7), LED screens giving real-time status of departure and arrival, food shops, KFC, McDonalds, toilets
1F: waiting room for high speed trains, LED screens, small market, toilets, platform
-1F: arrival floor, exit passage
Metro Line 2 is available at Jinan Train Station. In addition, many city buses have a stop there and can send passengers to almost all directions of the city, including bus no. 3, 9, 11, 18, 21, 34, 43, 78, 83, 84, BRT5, K51, K98, K156 K302, and 501. Taxis are also available, with the pick-up point near the exit.
To Baotu Spring Park: Travelers can take bus No. K51 to the East Gate of Baotu Spring Park directly. The duration is around 20 to 30 minutes. If taking a taxi, it would cost around CNY15 and duration is around 15 minutes without traffic problem.
To Daming Lake Park: Travelers can take bus No. 11 and get off at the 6th stop to the Southwest Gate of Daming Lake Park. The duration is around 30 minutes. Taking a taxi would take around 15 minutes and the taxi fare is approximately CNY15.
Travelers who want to alight at the North Gate of the park can take bus No. 118 to the North Gate of Daming Lake Park. It’s also the 6th stop.
To Thousand-Buddha Mountain: Take bus No. 43 to Quancheng Park. You should get off at the 9th stop and then walk about 600 yards (540m) to the destination. The bus duration is about 40 minutes. Taking a taxi would cost about CNY20 and the duration is around 30minutes.
To Shandong Provincial Museum: Travelers can take bus No. BRT5 and get off at the 18th stop for Provincial Museum. The trip duration is around 70 minutes. If taking a taxi, the taxi fare would be around CNY30-40 and duration is about 40 minutes.
To West Railway Station: Travelers can take K156 to the 9th stop, Jingshi Road Section Xingxi Road, and then change to bus No. 38 for the West station. The duration is around 70 minutes. Taking a taxi would cost around CNY30 and the duration is around 30 minutes.
In addition, there are also bullet trains between which take only 16 to 17 minutes. If the schedule fits, this can be a very good way for transfer as well. The second class seat is CNY9.5 per person.
To Airport: There are airport shuttle buses running between. The bus departs from the station at 05:00 and at intervals of 30 to 60 minutes. The last shuttle is at 20:00. The trip is around 1 hour and the ticket fare is CNY20 per person.
Ticket Office
The ticket office is located to the west side of the main entrance on 1F. Ticket counters are in the west side of the ticket office. There are totally 21 ticket counters. Counter No. 2 to 5 are used for ticket change and cancellation, No. 20 and 21 are special counters for travel document issue. Other counters are used for ticket purchase and collection. The east and middle part is set up for self-service ticket machines which are available only to Chinese ID card holders. International travelers should not waste their time there.
Waiting room
Waiting rooms are set up on both 1F and 2F and they are large open areas instead of different small rooms. The 1F waiting area is mainly used for high speed rides and the 2F area for normal types. Toilets and hot drinking water are provided. The waiting room on 2F has a commercial area where small restaurants can be found.

Both bullet and non-bullet trains are available at Jinan Train Station. The high speed ones include those to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Weifang, Jimo, Yantai, Qingdao, Tianjin, Chongqing, and Shenyang while the non-bullet ones include those to Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Urumqi, Shijiazhuang, Qingdao, Weihai and Rizhao etc.

How to travel to other downtown places from Jinan Railway Station
Travelers who want to alight at the North Gate of the park can take bus No. 118 to the North Gate of Daming Lake Park. It’s also the 6th stop.
