 Xian – Jinan Bullet Trains run along Xian –Zhengzhou and Zhengzhou – Xuzhou High Speed Railways first and then change to Beijing – Shanghai High Speed Railway.

 Xian – Zhengzhou: This section was put into service since February 6, 2010, greatly shortening the travel time between the two cities to 2 – 2.5 hours.

 Zhengzhou – Xuzhou: The whole line opened on September 10th, 2016. The travel time between Zhengzhou and Xuzhou is 1.5 – 2.5 hours.

 Beijing – Shanghai: This section opened on June 30th, 2011. Traveling along this route, the travel time between Xuzhou and Jinan is 1 – 2.5 hours.

All normal trains are used between Xian Railway Station and Jinan Railway Station. It is advised to travel by overnight sleeper trains such as Z273 and Z105/Z106. They save one-night hotel expense and day time, providing great convenience for budget travelers.

Also, flight ticket price will be competitive in low season as great discounts may be provided. However, flight delays may occur in bad weather. In this case, high speed rail trip is recommended because of its punctuality and beautiful scenery along the way.
