Welcome to Shanghai and join in our 2 days Shanghai local tour! You are about to explore the best attractions in the most modernized city of China. Your personal guide will wait for you with a welcome board at the airport or the train station. After a warm greeting, you will be escorted to Shiliupu Wharf by a comfortable vehicle. 

Here you will board a cruise with your guide to sightsee on the Huangpu River which runs through central Shanghai permanently. The terrific city views along both sides of the river are worth seeing. The west bank of the Huangpu River is the Bund, one of the landmarks of the city and also a symbol of Shanghai during the concession era, where you can see an array of beautiful colonial buildings in Gothic, baroque, and neoclassical architectural styles, representing Shanghai's history and past glory. On the contrary, the east bank, also called Pudong, lined with skyscrapers, displays the modern glamour of Shanghai, making it one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Asia. You will surely be amazed at the cool Pudong's skyline which consists of the second-highest building in the world, 632m (2,073 ft.) high Shanghai Tower, nearby World Financial Center, and Jinmao Tower. The whole cruise trip takes about one hour and you're suggested to take a coat or jacket as it may be a little windy on board. 

After disembarking, the guide will accompany you to stroll around the Bund to get cultured from a close distance of "the museum of buildings". Then head to the bustling Nanjing Road connecting with the Bund, which is one of the busiest shopping areas in Shanghai. You could taste some local snacks or purchase interesting souvenirs. After that, you will be transferred to a hotel for checking in with the help of the guide.

After breakfast, your guide and the driver will lead you to today's first stop, Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall which is located on the People's Square. This is a good place for you to learn about the development of Shanghai, including the past planning history, the overall municipal layout, and the following planning. Nothing can be more exciting than tracing Shanghai's development from a small fishing village to nowadays' magical metropolis. What's more, on the third floor, you will see an impressive model with the city's detailed layout. 

The next stop is Yu Garden, a must-visit Shanghai attraction. If you have no time to visit Suzhou's traditional classic gardens, then Yu Garden offers you everything you want to see about a typical Chinese garden. Built in the 16th century, the garden once served as the residence of an officer in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It has an intricate layout with ancient buildings, pines from bizarre rockeries, pavilions, corridors, and ponds full of Koi. Followed by is the busy bazaar nearby, full of eateries and local shops with souvenirs, where you can enjoy your lunch and the guide would like to offer some recommendations.   

In the afternoon, we will head to stroll around the Former French Concession of Shanghai, the residences once built for French over the course of nearly a hundred years from 1849 to 1943. The 1.5-2 hours walking tour will lead to visit the French-style Fuxing Park; Sinan Road, one of the oldest streets in Shanghai lined with Tudor houses; Zhou Mansion, the iconic Spanish-style house on the Sinan Road, also the former residence of the former Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai; and Xintiandi, a fashionable pedestrian street remaining the old-style Shikumen buildings, where you can feel the mix of "Old and Modern", just like the city itself.
