How to Travel from Hong Kong Airport to Guangzhou

The distance from Hong Kong airport (HKIA) to Guangzhou is around 170 kilometers (105 miles) and there are 4 ways to travel between:

1. Long-distance bus is the most popular way to go from Hong Kong Airport to Guangzhou with the travel time of around 3 hours and the ticket fare of HKD250.

2. Ferry has fewer schedules than the long-distance buses, but takes a shorter time of about 70 / 100 minutes. The ticket price is HKD300 for a standard class seat.

3. Also, passengers can choose to take the bus or Airport Express to Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station or Hung Hom Railway Station and then take a train to arrive in Guangzhou.

SkyPier is a cross-border ferry terminal attached to Hong Kong International Airport, located on the northeast side of the airport. Passengers can take a taxi from the airport to SkyPier with the duration around 7 minutes. Or, passengers can take bus line Longba S1, Chengba S1 or B4 to the port with the duration of around 30 minutes.

 

3. Airport Express / Shuttle Bus + Train

 

Airport Express + High Speed Train: 70-80 minutes, about HKD350

→ Take the Hong Kong Airport Express from Hong Kong International Airport to Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station: 21 minutes, HKD100

→ Take a high speed train from West Kowloon Railway Station to Guangzhou South Railway Station: 50-60 minutes, CNY452 – 645 / HKD528 - 754 for a business class seat, CNY323 – 344 / HKD378 - 402 for a first class seat, and CNY215/ HKD250 for a second class seat
 

Bus + High Speed Train: 100 - 110 minutes, HKD290

→ Take the bus line A22 from Hong Kong International Airport to West Kowloon Railway Station: 50 minutes, HKD39

→ Take a bullet train to Guangzhou South Railway Station
 

Bus + Through Train: 3 hours, HKD250

→ Take the bus line A21 to Hung Hom Railway Station: 1 hour, HKD33

→ Take a through train to Guangzhou East Railway Station: 2 hours, HKD 250 for a VIP seat, HKD210 for a first class seat

 

4. Hong Kong - Guangzhou Flight: 1 hour, Over HKD1,200 

Two direct flights are available for passengers from Hong Kong to Guangzhou with flight time of around 1 hour. Passengers need to expect a cost of CNY 1,000 - 1,300 / HKD1,200 - 1.500 for an economy class seat.
