Xian-Hangzhou Train

There are 11 pairs of trains running daily between Xian and Hangzhou: 4 pairs of them are high speed trains with duration of 6.5 to 8 hours; the other 8 pairs are non-bullet trains taking much longer time, 18.5 to 24 hours. In addition, an extra pair of normal rides run every three days. The running distance is 897 to 1,043 miles (1,444 to 1,679 kilometers).

Flight service is another frequently used way for transfer between. There are many flights a day between, taking only around 2 hours. Usually the flight ticket fare is higher compared with rail service, however, sometimes if good discount is offered, the price can be very competitive as well.
 

High Speed Trains

All the 4 pairs run between Xian North Railway Station and Hangzhou East Railway Station. With a top speed of 186 mi/h, the duration is around 6.5 to 8 hours for this 912-mile trip. Although a little far from the city center, both railway stations have been connected with subway lines, making transfer between the downtown and railway station quite convenient.

All these normal rides run between Xian Railway Station and Hangzhou Railway Station which is also called Chengzhan Railway Station by local people. If the time allows, travelers are more recommended to choose the overnight sleeper train Z86/Z88 as it is the fastest one among normal rides.

Except the 7 pairs of daily rides mentioned above, there is one pair of rides K1122/K1124 which are only operated every three days. Travelers can check the detailed availability by the search tool on this page top.

Some of these normal rides follow almost the same route as high speed rides, however, K1042/K1040, K1124/K1122, K468/K466 and K658/K656 run a little differently. The stop-bys include Shangluo, Danfeng, Shangnan, Xixia, Zhenping, Tanghe, Tongbai, Xinyang, Luoshan, Xixian, Henchuan, Shangcheng, Gushi, Liu'an, Hefei, Caohu, Wuhu, Xuancheng, Changxing South and Deqing West.
