We just write to thank all the wonderful people involved in making our tour to China such a success.

From the moment we arrived in China, our guides and drivers we met through the tour were excellent! First of all I must mention Robert, who picked us up an hour away from Yichang. Everyone on our cruises was confused since the final stop had to be changed. Robert was there at 5:30 a.m. with a car waiting to drive us to the railway station. What a relief! In the earliest morning he took care of everything... and would not leave us until we were safe at our gate. Special thanks to him. Barry, our Beijing guide, was terrific! He was knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and was a delight to be with. Xian was also an experience! Celine was quite thorough with her history and the information about the Terracotta Soldiers. She made our short trip to Xian quite exciting. Celine was quite flexible and always pleasant! In Shanghai, we were welcomed by a wonderful guide, Shing. She knows the city very well. We wanted to go in every direction and she knew how to do it and how to find anything we wanted! We really had fun spending our time with her. Plus, Shanghai is really fabulous. One last comment, all of the restaurants chosen were very good. Food was delicious and each guide was always concerned with our satisfaction. The drivers were also the best and very nice!! I was amazed at the way they were always able to show up in a moments notice. Also any entertainment we went to, took our breath away. We loved them all.

First let me compliment you on the way that you organized our vacation--it was the trip of a lifetime and your guides’flexibility in dealing with us made us feel that the vacation was catered to our needs. Abbey was particularly good at realizing my special requests were to be carried out and she saw to it that they were--the train ride to Xian was very good. Kitty Beijing guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The Peking Duck restaurant in Beijing was excellent--we would also recommend My Humble House for unique atmosphere and food. The drivers in all three cities-Beijing/Xian and Guilin were all courteous and careful drivers--no worries with our transportation in their hands. Rita in Xian was knowledgeable and friendly--her English was very good. Judy met us at the airport in Guilin and helped us to upgrade the hotel room as I wanted a view for the two nites that we were staying and even though the hotel was sold out we were able to secure the best room in the hotel for an extra payment. We did find a restaurant in Yangshuo that gave us the best meal of the trip--even better than Jean Georges in Shanghai-- and of course at 1/20th the price. We had four vegetarian dishes/two quart bottles of beer/fried rice/ and green tea for ten dollars over a 2 hour lunch in a very nice setting. Transfers to and from airports went without any problems. We would highly recommend your services to anyone traveling to China.

Our 10 day tour of China was very well done by TravelChinaGuide. Our guides were waiting at the airport and railway stations when we arrived at each destination and our drivers were very good also. Our guides were very knowledgeable about their areas and we were able to learn a great deal from them. We really appreciated the cold water they kept in the vans since it was extremely hot and humid there. Our guides were very flexible and when we wanted to change our itinerary or cancel one of our sightseeing destinations each guide was very understanding and had wonderful suggestions for us. We can't give enough compliments and "thank you" to our guides. We ate at wonderful restaurants that were included in the tour but it was too much. I think one of the meals (maybe lunch) should be very light with just lots of liquids for the heat. We would like to have had more time for shopping as we wanted to bring back something nice from our tour but we had too many things we wanted to see also. More store stop would be good. ☺

My husband and I loved the wall and Ms. Candy our tour guide she is excellent. The guy who toured us inside Hutong was excellent too. The guy who toured us the first day at Heveanly temple was so nice to take memorable pictures of me and my husband. Due to the upcoming 70th National Holiday, The forbidden City, Tiananmen square, The Birds Nest/ Olympic were closed and it was understandable. The company scheduled something else that will compensate the schedule and It was nice. If I am going back, I would choose your company back again and recommend it to my friends👍

First and foremost, my main concern was that making a payment to Travel China Guide a tour operator I found on the web and how trust worthy and reliable they would be in delivering the service? Travel China Guide provided me a worry free trustworthy service, they delivered a wonderful tour and my method of money transfer and credit card details were very safe and secure. I am normally very skeptical when I read testimonials thinking they are fixed, however I am writing one for Travel China Guide now: I found both my agents Linda and Wendy to be very courteous, helpful, professional and efficient when dealing with me. They made sure every single detail of the tour was taken care of. Overall, it was a fun journey, we met some nice people on the tour. The service was very good. The guides also provided excellent services. The cruise ship from Chongqing to Yichang was very good. They provided a professional and efficient service. When you take a cruise it is more about the journey and not the destination from that point of view the ship staff were very warm, helpful and welcoming. I personally would have preferred more western dish options for dinner and lunch. I will definitely book through Travel China Guide for my future travels within China.

TravelChinaGuide is a great outfit. The online staff is very attentive to questions and respond to the US the next business day. I booked two tours. I was given notice a week ahead that the weather was bad and my outdoor mountain tour needed to be cancelled. My credit card was refunded with a day of cancellation and I had enough time to book something else. My other tour was staffed by a very talented tour guide, with excellent language skills, demeanor, and ability to keep the small group engaged.

I would definitely consider TravelChinaGuide again for future tours.

Overall the whole trip was the experience of a lifetime and we will recommend this website to our friends.
The Dumbling banquet in Xian and the Peking Duck in Beijing were absolutely delicious and to be recommended!!! All the food was wonderful and a big variety was offered. One problem though: the meals served (lunch and dinner) were much too big and unfortunately most of the time we could only eat less than half of the portions served. This was a real waste of delicious food! Maybe the portions could be a bit smaller and that would reduce the cost of the meals and therefore the overall cost of the trip. Or cut down on the portions.
The guides were a pleasure to be with. Their English was quite good and easy to understand. Our guide 'Maggie' in Beijing was very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The guide in Shanghai 'QinQin' was fun to be with. The guide in Xian 'Judy' was willing to change plans and tried to accommodate our requests and was extremely helpful.
All in all we absolutely enjoyed this trip and I was positively surprised at how well everything was organised.
The Acrobatic show was very interesting and extremely exciting and good. The Great Wall was a memorable experience though we would have liked to spend more time there (90 mins was a bit too short). I would suggest for future trips that the guides give their customers the option to have a break during the day to go back to the hotel and change before the Kung Fu Show, Acrobatic show or the Chinese Music and Dance show or just to have a rest in the hotel during the day as the itinerary can be quite exhausting at times. This option was not offered by any of our guides and on some of the days a rest during the day would have been appreciated by us.
Thanks for everything!

My husband and I enjoyed our time very much. We were very satisfied with the arrangements made for us by TCG and we would certainly recommend your agency to others.
Beijing:
Our guide (Candy) in Beijing was excellent. She was intelligent, very competent and had a good sense of humor. She seemed to really like her job. She never hurried us along and she let us set the pace. She shared her information about Beijing in an interesting way...she was never boring. She was helpful in many ways such as finding bank machines or particular places for shopping. She also seemed genuinely interested in us as people, not just customers. She was our best guide during our trip. Our accommodation in Beijing was excellent and the meals were very good. The breakfasts in the hotel were very good with lots of variety. For our other meals our guide made sure that we had good variety and good service. The Kung Fu show was terrific. We would highly recommend it to other visitors.
Xian:
Our tour guide in Xian (Carol) was sick and that is probably why we would rate her as satisfactory but not terrific. The accommodation was fine and the dumpling meal in particular was excellent. The show was also excellent.
Guilin:
Our tour guide (Shirley) was very enthusiastic about her city and really liked her job. Her language skills were very good. She arranged for and accompanied us on an evening lake cruise which we really enjoyed. Guilin was a wonderful city to visit! Our accommodation was very nice with views to the lake.
Yangshuo:
The Li River trip was wonderful...and to our surprise the lunch was good! Our guide (Shirley) arranged for us to get tickets for the "Water Show" which was fantastic.
Chongqing:
Although we only had a short time with our guide (Judy) she was excellent! She was intelligent and full of good information.
Yangtze River Cruise along the 3 Gorges:
We really enjoyed this cruise. We were very lucky and had good weather. The ship itself was fine except for the food which was very greasy.
Shanghai:
Our guide (Leanne) was very good. She was helpful and informed and let us set the pace. She had a good sense of humor. The accommodation was fine. The food was good at the restaurants.
All of our drivers were fantastic. They were good at their job. The vehicles were clean and well maintained.
Thank you.

Thank you TCG for a truly excellent vacation. We have had the best possible experience we could have imagined. China is a beautiful and friendly country. More importantly, your service was the major factor in how much we enjoyed ourselves. Our consultants helped us to create a trip for the three of us that was fantastic. Also having two adults and a 10 year old was easily handled by you ensuring we could all be together in accommodation and on flights. Your advice prior to our trip and your quick responses to all our emails helped us immensely in planning our itinerary. In fact you made it simple for us to tour China even though we had no knowledge of the language.

Eldon and I have returned to Canada and are slowly adapting to our time zone again. As we look at our photos we remember our great time and through your company we were able to experience a look at your country safely with our guide and driver. We loved all our restaurant meals. What selection and diversity! We thoroughly enjoyed our first meal in Beijing. The restaurant was amazing, specializing in Beijing duck. Our guide, Candy, assisted us in choosing some tasty selections. We also really enjoyed the last meal in Shanghai. We were in a private room and Ian, our guide, was also very helpful as we made our choices. The food was exquisite. I would like to mention that we preferred the a la carte method as opposed to the fixed menu meal. The restaurant was great, but we would have preferred making our own choices. All the restaurants were clean and the service impeccable. The restrooms were also very clean. All three of our guides were very knowledgeable about the places we were visiting. They were not just reciting facts either. They seemed genuinely interested and proud of the facts they were sharing. I cannot think of anything disappointing in our guides. We were delighted with the relationship that was built over the few days we spent together. They were all easy to get along with and we felt like we were exploring China with friends. We laughed and joked, and we felt free to ask questions about Chinese culture not necessarily related to the historical place we were visiting. We were quite impressed with the level of English the guides had acquired. It was interesting to find out how they came to speak and understand so well. If there was any time they did not quite understand our questions, they were comfortable to ask us again or confirm what the question was. We had some fun with translations and how crazy the English language is. We were like sponges soaking up all the information the guides had to offer us. We felt like we learned so much about this country, the culture and the people because we had proficient guides by our sides explaining things to us. The guides were very clear to explain to us what the next day was going to be and what time to meet in the lobby. They were always on time and cheerful. We appreciated that the guides were flexible to include a shopping excursion or some other place we wanted to see. We appreciated being asked if we wanted to change the order of the itinerary to suit either the heat, the crowds, or to make our day more manageable. The guides were good sports, laughing at our jokes, and taking many photos of us, sometimes being in them with us. Candy, Lily and Ian were very warm and caring people that made our holiday memorable. We were grateful for our drivers as we watched the traffic fly around us. What an amazing job they did weaving their way in and out of the cities. The vehicles were clean, the air conditioning on, bottles of water ready for us after each excursion. We found it easier to get in and out of the car rather than the van but all were quite appreciated. We can't say enough about the quality of the hotels! Each one was in a fantastic central location. The rooms were spacious and clean. We were able to easily walk around and explore more of the city after our daily tour. We were delighted in that. In Beijing we were in the fashion district and enjoyed the pedestrian mall and shopping. In Xian we explored the local streets and got a glimpse of the general population and their lives. In Shanghai we were steps from the Old City and walking distance to The Bund. Each hotel had fantastic buffet breakfasts and the staff was so polite and careful of service. This helped us immensely as we slept well each night and were ready for another full day of sightseeing in the morning. I would use it again.
