Hangzhou South Railway Station

Hangzhou South Railway Station, originally named Xiaoshan Railway Station, has been re-opened on July 1st, 2020 after reconstruction. It is located in Xiaoshan District, about 21km (13mi) away from the Xiaoshan International Airport, 18km (11mi) away from the Hangzhou Railway Station and 20km (12.5mi) away from the East Railway Station.

Station Plan

Hangzhou South Railway Station is made up of the Terminal Building, the West Square and the East Square.

Take Metro Line 5 to Hangzhou East

The Terminal Building has five floors:
-2F: platform for Metro Line 5;
-1F: railway arrival hall, transfer hall between railway and Metro Line 5, toilet, baby care room (infant seat, diaper, armrest, washbasin), clinic;
1F: entrance, ticket office, toilet, railway platforms;
2F: waiting hall, toilet;
Mezzanine: restaurants, stores

The West Square mainly receives the passengers who come to/leave from the railway station by taxi or private car. Accordingly, the underground parking lane for taxis and the ample parking lot for private cars are available here.

The East Square is twice as large as the West Square and used as a public transfer center. Inbound and outbound passengers can take Metro Line 5, city bus, long-distance bus and taxi here.

How to get to the Hangzhou South Railway Station?

Arrival by metro:
Take Metro Line 5 and get off at the South Railway Station stop (Huo Che Nan Zhan). Go outside the metro station and walk about 50m (55yd) to enter the railway station.

Note: It is also convenient to take Metro Line 1, Line 2, Line 4 or Line 16 to transfer to Metro Line 5, and then enter the railway station.

Arrival by city bus:
To the West Square Bus Stop: 700, 707, 726, 747, 7798, 8300

To the East Square Bus Stop: 123, 328, 727, 731, 736 (North Line), 736 (South Line), 736B

How to get to other places from the Hangzhou South Railway Station?

To Hangzhou Railway Station:
Take Metro Line 5 and get off at the Railway Station stop (Cheng Zhan Huo Che Zhan).

To the Xiaoshan International Airport:
Take Metro Line 5 to People's Square station → Transfer to line 2 to reach Third Jianshe Road station → Interchange to line 7 and get off at the airport

The more convenient way from the railway station to the airport is by taxi, taking CNY70 and 40min.

To West Lake (Broken Bridge):
Take Metro Line 5 and transfer to the Metro Line 2 at the People’s Square stop (Ren Min Guang Chang), then get off at the Fengqi Road (Fengqilu) stop and get out through the Exit F.

To Wulin Square:
Take Metro Line 5 and transfer to Metro Line 1 at the Binkang Road (Binkanglu) stop, then get off at the Wulin Square (Wu Lin Guang Chang) stop.

Facilities and Services

Ticket Offices: There is a ticket office by both east entrance and west entrance. There are 13 ticket windows in total.

Check-in Points: Located on the north and south sides of waiting hall are 12 check-in points. Every check-in point is equipped with four automatic checking machines and one manual checking point.

One-direction Security Check Exemption: For passengers who arrive at the Hangzhou South Train Station and want to transfer to the Metro Line 5 on -2F, they are exempted from the security check at the metro station. Obviously, it is very convenient for those with a lot of luggage.
