Shanghai - Chengdu Train

Shanghai and Chengdu are two of major tourism destinations in China. Both normal and high speed trains are running between. The high speed ones all run in daytime, taking 11 - 16 hours. The ordinary ones travel overnight, but they take a long time of 31 - 37.5 hours. Although the sceneries along the way are not bad, it wastes a lot of time, especially for those who are pressed for time. In the case, high speed ones are better choices.

However, if you travel in a hurry, flight will be a good option, whose duration is about 3.5 hours. But it will generally cost you more.

High Speed Trains

Most bullet trains are running between ShanghaiShanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and Chengdu East Railway Station. The travel time is two times less than the ordinary ones. But correspondingly, they are more expensive, even more expensive than the flight tickets in low season. They usually depart in the morning and arrive in the late evening, so you have a full day to relax yourself and admire the scenery along the way.
