SH22: 5 Days Private Shanghai & Chengdu Trip

In the morning, we will tour Shanghai Museum first. As a large ancient Chinese art museum, it sets 10 galleries to display the collections of ancient ceramics, bronze wares, sculpturea, paintinga, calligraphy, furniture of Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1911), currency, jade, seal and minorities nationality art, etc. Then visit the classic Chinese garden Yu Garden and enjoy a lunch in the nearby Yuyuan Bazaar. There are plenty of delicious local snacks for you to choose from. The cost is not included in the quotation. Your guide will give you some recommendations according to your taste. 

On both sides of Huangpu River gather the essence of the city landscape, so in the afternoon, we will take the cruise along Huangpu River to see the western buildings built about 100 years ago on the west bank and modern skyscrapers on the east bank. Afterwards, some free time will be left for you to explore the west bank, or commonly known as the Bund. You can wander along the riverfront to feel the charm of the city. Finally, head to Tianzifang, a gathering place of modern creative arts and Shikumen residences.

Today, the guide and the driver will escort you to the airport for the flight to Chengdu. Upon landing, you will meet your local guide at the luggage claim area. Then your Shanghai Chengdu tour in Chengdu will begin. The first scenic spot we will go is Thatched Cottage of Du Fu. Du Fu (712 - 770), a great realistic poet of Tang Dynasty (618 - 907), is renowned as the Poet-Sage by the later generations. Thatched Cottage of Du Fu is China's largest, best-preserved, most famed and most characteristic site of his dwellings. Followed by is the Wide and Narrow Alley. It is the best embodiment of the leisure urban life in Chengdu. After the tour, you will be transferred to the hotel for a good rest.

We are going to the most exciting scenic spot of this Shanghai Chengdu tour packages today - Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Since the pandas are more active in the morning, so we will set out earlier today. To completely simulate pandas' wild living environment, the base has lakes, streams, bamboo forests, lawns, etc. There are more than 100 pandas of the adult, sub-adult and juvenile living in different areas. Along the way, you will see pandas in various gestures such as climbing, lying on the ground, eating bamboos, and lying on the trunks. Have your camera been ready to record these lovely moments at any time. In Moonlight Nursery House, you can also see the newly born pandas if luckily. 

Then follow the guide to Jinsha Site Museum. The site has unearthed a large number of gold wares, jade wares and ivories. It mainly consists of Relics Hall and Exhibition Hall. Relics Hall is the best-preserved and longest-lasting sacrificial sites with the most abundant sacrificial remains and relics in China. In Exhibition Hall, you will learn more about the brilliance of ancient Shu State from the ecological environment, architectural form, production life, funeral customs, religious sacrifices and so on. The final stop is People's Park. Enjoy some leisure time to stroll in the park and experience the locals' life. Here, you will see the Golden Water Stream, Flowing Water Teahouse, Memorial Square, Potted Landscape Garden, Goldfish Island, etc.
