Beijing - Ulaanbaatar Trains Restarted Running since June 3, 2025

The train will run a round trip every week: Train K23 departs from Beijing Railway Station at 07:27 every Tuesday and arrives in Ulaanbaatar Railway Station at 14:35 on the following Wednesday; K24 leaves Ulaanbaatar at 07:18 every Thursday and gets to Beijing at 14:35 on Friday. Passengers need to go through immigration inspection in Erlian and Zamyn Uud, the border cities of China and Mongolia respectively.

On Beijing to Ulaanbaatar trains, it costs CNY 1,291 for a hard sleeper and CNY 1,854 for a soft sleeper, while on Ulaanbaatar to Beijing trains, CNY 960 and CNY 1,090 are needed respectively. Tickets are available on TravelChinaGuide.com.

Previously, Hohhot - Ulaanbaatar trains have resumed operation, departing twice a week on every Monday and Friday.

Nanning - Hanoi International Trains Resumed since May 25, 2025

The train numbered T8701 departs from Nanning Railway Station in Nanning, China at 18:05 every day and arrives at Gia Lam Railway Station in Hanoi, Vietnam at 06:30 the next day. It exits China through Pingxiang Port and enters Vietnam through Dong Dang Port, from which the train number will be changed to MR2. MR1 (T8702 from Dong Dang) is operating in the opposite direction between 22:20 (Beijing time) and 10:06 the next day.

The tickets are sold on site only in China. Passengers can buy one with their passport at most 10 days in advance at the designated ticket windows at Nanning Railway Station, Guilin North Railway Station, Chongzuo Railway Station and Pingxiang Railway Station. Honoi to Nanning train tickets are only available at Gia Lam Railway Station.

Only soft sleeper carriages are set onboard. They have 4 berths in each cabin, and all cost CNY 215. Besides, passengers to take this train have to go through the manual lane when checking tickets. Those who want to extend their travel to/from Beijing can go on to take the normal train Z6/Z5.
