New Train Schedule to Be Implemented since July 1, 2025

According to the schedule, high speed sleeper trains departing in the afternoon and arriving the next morning will start to run between Beijing and Chengdu, Shanghai and Chengdu, Beijing and Guiyang, Taiyuan and Shenzhen, etc., which can help passengers traveling between save one-night hotel fee. Hohhot - Wuhan/ Yangzhou will be connected by direct bullet trains since then.

Besides, many high speed trains will run with a shorter duration. For instance, passengers can shuttle from Shanghai to Kunming/ Chongqing in 9h35m and 8h59m respectively, 2h3m and 1h28m faster than before; the travel time between Beijing and Kunming by bullet sleeper train will also be cut by 49 min; Chongqing - Changsha and Chengdu - Changsha high speed trains can complete the whole journey of 1,040 km and 1,342 km in only 3h53m and 5h45m.

Beijing - Ulaanbaatar Trains Restarted Running since June 3, 2025

The train will run a round trip every week: Train K23 departs from Beijing Railway Station at 07:27 every Tuesday and arrives in Ulaanbaatar Railway Station at 14:35 on the following Wednesday; K24 leaves Ulaanbaatar at 07:18 every Thursday and gets to Beijing at 14:35 on Friday. Passengers need to go through immigration inspection in Erlian and Zamyn Uud, the border cities of China and Mongolia respectively.

On Beijing to Ulaanbaatar trains, it costs CNY 1,291 for a hard sleeper and CNY 1,854 for a soft sleeper, while on Ulaanbaatar to Beijing trains, CNY 960 and CNY 1,090 are needed respectively. Tickets are available on TravelChinaGuide.com.

Previously, Hohhot - Ulaanbaatar trains have resumed operation, departing twice a week on every Monday and Friday.
