As part of Shenyang - Jiamusi High Speed Railway in northeast China, this 430-kilometer-long (267-mile) railway line starts from Shenyang North Railway Station and ends at Changbaishan Railway Station with 8 stops at Fushun, Tonghua, Changbaishan West, etc.

At present, 56 high speed trains are running on this line daily with a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph), 2 pairs of which stretch to/from Beijing Chaoyang Railway Station. Passengers can arrive at Changbaishan Railway Station from Beijing Chaoyang Station and Shenyang North Station by bullet train in 4h33m and 1h53m, respectively.

As a transportation hub for tourists visiting Changbai Mountain, Changbaishan Railway Station is only about 7 - 8 km (4 - 5 mi) away from Changbai Mountain North Slope. From the railway station, tourists can get to the distribution center of the scenic area by bus No.1 easily with a duration of 30 - 40 minutes and a cost of CNY 1. If by taxi, it takes about 15 minutes and costs around CNY 25.
